Who we are
Fresh Start Cleaning Services (and our specialist service, Fresh Start Bio Cleaning Services) is run by Georgio and Tasha Tanganelli. We are the "controller" of the personal information described here.

What we collect and why

We encrypt lock box and alarm codes. We show them only to the cleaners who do your clean, and only on the day of the clean. We record each time someone views a code.
Photos and social media
Our cleaners take before and after photos as a record of their work. We may share photos of rooms on social media. We never share your name, address, house number, people, documents or personal items. We remove location data from the photos. You can opt out at any time. We record when you opted in or out. We never share photos from biohazard or trauma work.
If you add photos to a quote request, only our office sees them. We use them only to prepare your quote, and we never share them on social media. We remove location data from them. If you do not become a customer, we delete them after 6 months.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use trusted providers to run our business. These include:
- Website and database hosting (DigitalOcean, London) and website security (Cloudflare)
- Website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (Google)
- Sending emails (Resend)
- Encrypted backups (Backblaze)
- Payment providers and our accounting software, once you're a customer
- Licensed waste carriers, for biohazard work only
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with the police.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not go ahead: up to 12 months
- Job applications: up to 6 months, unless you join us
- Customer records: while you are a customer and for a short time after
- Invoices and payment records: 6 years, as required by law
Your rights
You can:
- ask for a copy of your information
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it (we will keep invoices for 6 years, because the law requires this)
- object to how we use it
- ask us to restrict how we use it
We will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we handled your information, please tell us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
